The choir worked very hard to prepare for two important services in December: the Advent Carol Service and the Service of Nine Lessons and Carols. The choristers learned many pieces for these two services and the young girls, especially the new young recruits, did so well to remain enthusiastic and committed when choir practice was very hard work as we prepared all the music within a four week time slot. However, the girls did enjoy their visit to McDonalds after we had sung at Cherry Tree Nursing Home!! The attendance of the choristers, young and old, is excellent given how busy everyone is these days, but the girls’ attendance record is super and all bar two girls had attendance of well over 90% for the past year. Wonderful commitment!
The Choir On Advent Sunday, The Beginning Of A Busy Few Weeks

I joined St John’s choir approximately 4 years ago and have thoroughly enjoyed every minute since! Much of this is down to John Granger, our choirmaster who instills a real ‘can do’ attitude in us all! The friendship, laughter (& hard work!) that we all share make Friday night rehearsals a joy & the praise & positive comments received after Sunday services are the result! The addition of our wonderful girls, the youngest only 8 years old are a shining example of the youth of today and as such the icing on the cake! Why not come & listen to us one Sunday….
Great stuff, Jan. Thanks for your lovely comment. It is a pleasure to work with the choir!!
