Introduction To Sunday School
The Sunday School runs every Sunday during the School term at St John’s. Start Time: 10:45 am
Sunday School runs at the same time as the Sunday morning service during the school terms. The group meets in the Parish Room in the church to enjoy learning about Jesus and having fun together.
Games, dough modelling, drawing, painting, making bread, quizzes, cutting and sticking and bread making are some of the activities that the Sunday School engages in.
Parents can attend the service, and the Sunday School joins everyone else for the Communion. After Communion, the people in the church are given a demonstration of work carried out in the Sunday School.
There is a rota of Sunday School leaders, who work in pairs. In alphabetical order, they are Adrienne Moore, Ruth Dixon and Sarah Helkvist.

Sunday School Activities
The Sunday School have a special service with craft activities on Good Friday each year, followed by hot cross buns.
On Christmas Eve, they lead the Nativity at the Christingle service.
Sunday School activities at St John’s are based on the Roots resources. Samples of this material can be found at Roots On The Web
On the third Sunday of each month, there is an All Age Worship, which the Sunday School and Brownies take turns in leading.
Here are some things members of the Sunday School have said about it.
“We can make jokes and have fun.”
“I like doing creative things”
“We had a lovely time at the Panto, everyone shared and we all danced at the end to the music.”
