Alana is the Head Chorister and plays an important role in helping John with the choir in general and the young girls in particular. Alana is a Y13 student at Llanwern High School in Newport and through school is pursuing her Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award. Alana is a keen sportswoman, academically very bright and works hard at everything she undertakes. She organises the choir before a service, looks after the girls during their break at choir practices along with Becci, the Head Girl, and two adults, keeps an eye on the girls when they leave church to make sure they are collected by parents where necessary, and generally supports John when he is busy with other activities. John will miss Alana and Becci when they move on to further education but Alana’s younger sister, Holly, is learning what to do in her role as Deputy Head Girl, in order to take over from Alana as Head Chorister. We are truly blessed with these three girls as choir leaders and they are fortunate to lead such a lovely group of girls in the choir!
